"My
insiration comes from everyday reality, which I erase, rub
out, annul at first and then progressively reconstitute,
throwing out all the slag or useless elements in order to
achieve the maximal meaningful effect. As a begin a
picture I'm always worried to find out whether I will be
able to communicate with my art ideas. Of course at the
moment when I'm painting I'm happy, I'm someone else, in
my magical world. But afterwards come doubts, realiry
returns; a dramatic moment but quite energizing. I want to
bear witness to the anguish of living in a world where
everything flies apart, where everything is subject to
question, where injustive lives side by side with the
greatest self-sacrifices, where hope constantly bumps up
against the most negative doubts"
